Not a day goes by at Kilzers Kitchen when there's not action around the enormous granite preparation table in the centre of the stunning open plan demonstation and work kitchen. On any given day whilst there is a frenzy of food preparation going on for a function, people will be popping into Kilzers Kitchen to order something delicious like Jenny's famous Bobotie as a "take home" for special visitors, or perhaps an authentic Lazangna or Moussaka.  Nobody goes unattended or leaves empty handed albeit that order MUST be placed in advance as EVERYTHING is made fresh and to order.

And in the beginning ....

And so it is with Kilzers Kitchen the firm belief is that good foundations must be layed in order to acquire the necessary basic skills  to become a good cook!

The Basic Course

embraces the complete foundation of cooking, i.e the acquiring of basic skills such as

• correct knife handling techniques
• chicken de-boning
• preparation of stocks, sauces, soups
• different preparation methods e.g blanching, poaching, oven-baked method, braising, pot roasting etc.
